These pages are scribblings and snapshots from a trip I took with the Ottawa YMCA Canoe Camping Club of which I am a (now slightly less shiny but still) new member along the French River in Ontario's near north.
For seven days this group of ten intrepid trippers moved themselves in a loop down the French River from Hartley Bay west to Georgian Bay and back, aided only by several hundred pounds of nylon, kevlar, wood and food.
The French empties Lake Nippissing into Georgian Bay. Its delta provides some magnificent scenery which combines the rock formations of Killarney Park to the north and Georgian Bay itself.
Feel free to download and use the photos or the narrative for whatever non-nefarious purposes you may have. If you like the site let me know. The log may well be fraught with errors and is most definitely my own, irretrievably subjective opinion of the trip. If you see something incorrect, outrageous or confusing, let me know.
I would like to thank Rick Snell for leading the trip and all my co-trippers for their company and for making my first YCCC trip such a pleasant one.
