That Portage from David to Great Mountain Sucks eh!, Up and Down! Blah! On my way out I got in a conversation with a park Ranger. He says its the worst one in the park. He avoids it at all costs!!!

Where are the cairns in relation to the foundation from the old fire tower?

I'm second guessing whether we were really at the top when we did the hike last Thursday.

Good question. I posted an item on my blog about this. The cairns I photographed were on the first ridge you climb if you’re coming from David Lake. Quite far away from whichever bump is the actual peak.

Thanks Chris. We came from Bell Lake so I'm guessing that the cairns are on a part of the trail from David Lake before the two trails meet up for the big climb.
