Weekend in Frontenac Provincial Park

Shoulder rideIrene, Mallory and I had booked a weekend in Frontenac Provincial Park but my father died and the only weekend we could schedule for the memorial happened to be the one we’d booked in Frontenac.

But as it happened our neighbours – including one of Mallory’s best friends C. – had a vacancy in their roster for their Weekend-In-Frontenac™. So we not only got to go camping with super camp mates, but Mallory had one of her best friends along on the trip.

It was a sort of compensation for a sad summer.

We had great weather. Our neighbours had picked cluster 8 on Birch Lake, which is, in my view an awesome site. We spent part of Saturday hiking – Frontenac is as much a hiking park as a canoeing park – swimming, cooking, eating and enjoying campfire and company.
