Pedals off: Mallory’s bike training part two

Pedals off
Pedals off

Taking Lou Arab’s advice, I removed the pedals. It took a little convincing. Mallory at first thought she had failed a grade. We’re still working on things.

But the fact is, I had become her training wheels, running up and down the streets of our neighbourhood, holding her shoulder and usually her handlebars.

Having to bend over was killing my back and it was clear to me as she powered along, listing heavily to port, that I was just another pair of training wheels.

She’s slowly getting the hang of balancing on her own, pushing off and stopping. I may have results to report in a while.

@cmkl we borrowed a Skuut balance bike from a friend and G loves it. Refused to pedal his trike. My back feels much better.
