Marc-André Pigeon for Alterna Savings board of directors
Are any of you folks out there members of Alterna Savings (formerly CS-Coop, possibly former Capital Community Credit Union and no doubt former other credit unions too)? If so, hear me out. Please vote for Marc-André Pigeon in the upcoming Alterna Savings elections.
Marc-Andr̩ is an economist РPhd and all Рbut I like him because he wants to get Alterna more involved in low income communities where payday loans places and tax return gougers run amok. His work and his family life (he and his partner Colette Gignac are founders of a parent co-op daycare) give him the experience he needs to work with a board and to build consensus.
I like him. I think he’s a progressive with a practical streak who’s plenty smart and will stick up for what he believes in, even when surrounded by an increasingly business-oriented board and staff. But don’t believe me. Read his Bio and campaign statement [PDF] or listen to his campaign pitch.
