Soon radio: CBC settles
The Toronto Star is reporting that the Canadian Media Guild and the CBC have a tentative agreement.
Thank heavens. The silence in the mornings has been deeply unsettling. I didn’t imagine it would bother me that much. But it has.
I have been really impressed with how the CBC workers have run the strike. They’ve been positive, constructive and they’ve given of their time and their skill back to their listeners and the public in general.
I’m hoping they can take some of the innovative things they’ve done with them when they go back to work. If so, this lockout will have been something other than an embarassing waste of time.
We don’t know anything about the settlement, but I’m hoping management got creamed. They deserve to.
