Ishpatina Ridge trip report posted

This will about do it for me for this paddling/camping season, I imagine. I got back last week from five lovely days in Temagami, paddling to Ishpatina Ridge. I’ve done the usual chatty log with photos.

We had a well-timed run of good weather, followed by some middling weather, followed by a day of really bad weather. But we all enjoyed ourselves, did what we set out to do and saw some beautiful scenery.

Chris, I enjoyed the read about your trip and how you guys handled the good and bad weather. It’s given me some thoughts on equipment to bring and what to do with it. My plan is to get out there in August with at least a few more competant people. I live in Toronto so I may try the south route.
I’ve decided to take up Peakbagging < http://www.peakbagger.com>. The plan being to do the 10 Provinces (9 high-points). Then work through the lower 48 states then if I’m still into it – Alaska, Yukon, NWT & Nunavut. Some of these places will require skill and endurance equivelent to those scaling Mt. Everest. I’m no where near ready for that yet. But I figure Ontario is first – being close.
Your trip report is a great help along with reports from a few others:

Of course Peakbagging usually involves climbing – I expect most other high points will involve little paddling. Still I enjoy it and if this trip turns out great I’ll probably do alot more.

Wow, the trip looks gorgeous and I would like to try it one day, I love the trip report and photos. I have a project at school that I am doing for my “outdoorsmanship” class, the teacher wants us to plan out a trip and try to sell it to the class (as our presentation) as though we were a camping travel agency. I would like permission to use some of these photos in my presentation, I will not use any that have people in them as I do not have their permission, but was hoping to use more of the nature pictures such as “sunset on Smoothwater Lake”. The project is non-profitable as I am only in grade 12 but the teacher may make copies of the trip summary and hand it out to the students in the class (we are approximately 20 students) incase they ever wanted to attempt the trip. Any reply would be greatly appreciated.
