Merrickville 145km
I broke a spoke on my way back from Champlain and Irene very kindly came to fish me out for the second time this season. Too bad. I was really starting to feel like Champlain is getting easy.
So today I set out for my longest ride so far this season, to Merrickville and back – 145km, or roughly two thirds of the death march distance.
I made it, and it went okay – my average speed was just under 30km/h despite a head wind coming back. But I was really truly done for the day when I got back.
It’s still not at all clear to me how or if I can manage to do the RLCT Challenge route in two weeks.
