Wearing my new shoes on my new pedals. Will need to do some adjusting. I was so keen on having rigid carbon soles, I thought I’d tighten them as much as I could (all that extra efficiency). On the morning after, I think I can feel my feet again.
It was raining for some of the ride. But all the leaves are out, and frogs serenaded me throughout the ride. I ate one or two bugs too.
Many serious bikers out on the Parkway that evening, including one really skinny guy who had these massive calves. He looked like some strange insect. We played tag for a bit, but it was apparent to me from the outset he was only playing with me.
He eventually pulled ahead and I fell back, accepting my rightful place.
The RLCT is coming up in two weeks. I’m afraid I’m not going to have done nearly enough kilometres to be ready for it.
